One of my favorite places to stop when visit my parents is the General Store in Pfeiffer Station, it is on my way and they have loads of useful ingredients you never thought of. I stopped there one day last month to gather some canning supplies and spices. On that same trip I found that I could buy powdered cheese by the pound! I realize a normal human being does not need a pound of cheese powder but a mom that makes mac and cheese daily needs lots of cheese powder. Also, a mom experimenting with popcorn recipes needs cheese powder, so she can make cheesy popcorn. Here is the recipe I’ve selected and am about to test, I will let you know how it goes.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 1/4 cup cheddar cheese
powder, plus 1 tablespoon - 1/4 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 4 cups popped popcorn
- Salt and pepper
Directions
In a large bowl, combine the butter, cheddar cheese powder, mustard powder, cayenne pepper and the popcorn. Season with salt and pepper, to taste and toss to combine. Serve immediately.
