As I previously posted I am helping to organize an event called Real Estate Bar Camp, which is a grass-roots event in which people are encouraged to discuss how they use technology to enhance themselves and their business. The event is put together with the hopes that those in attendance will the the contributors, a round table discussion of sorts.
Today I had the pleasure of watching bits and pieces of the Bar Camp that was held in Charlotte, NC (Thanks to Dakno for streaming it.) Listening to some of thier discussions I realized that I have forgotten that Twitter isn’t common place, people are still intimidated by the internet and blogging really is something new to most people. On that note I want to share with you what all of this is and why I choose to make it part of my daily routine.
Twitter, to me anyways, is like new-aged chatting. You can ‘follow’ people 
with similar interest or geographic area. When you choose to follow them that means that you can see all their updates, reply to those updates and even direct message them. If you decide they are annoying or have nothing to contribute to your life then you un-follow them like it never happened. I use Twitter to keep up with local news, other Realtors around the nation and some locals to share what they are doing around Marion. To keep track of all my ‘tweeps’ I use an application called TweetDeck which keeps track of everyone for me, as well as direct messages and also FaceBook status updates.
I started this blog while I has acclimating myself to a work from home Realtor and new mom. I use it to chronicle my misadventures in real estate, random happenings around Marion and a little bit of whatever is on my mind. In my opinion I have a lot ot share, valuable or not I’m not sure but I shall share none the less.
